Infrared sauna is an incredible support for your health. I especially recommend it if you feel like you are getting sick, you are in pain, or you are doing a detox or cleanse.
- At first, start at around 135 degrees for 20 minutes. And, add a few minutes and a few degrees, gradually! Getting up to 150 degrees at least is great. Getting in your sauna 4 to 7 times per week is ideal. It is important to do it enough that you sweat each time.
- I recommend drinking at least a liter of water with electrolytes before and after your sauna.
- I also recommend taking 6 chlorella tablets before and another 6 tablets after each sauna. Chlorella is a wonderful binder to use to help detoxify whatever was released through the sauna. If you have a few hours before you will be eating or taking a supplement, I suggest taking 2 GI Detox by BioBotanical Research, right at the end of the sauna
- Use a hand towel to wipe off your sweat while you are in the sauna occasionally. You will be releasing toxins and chemicals as you sweat, and you want to get those off your body.
- You may feel “wiped out” at first, for about 20 minutes post-sauna. That’s normal, and as your body develops resilience, that won’t be the case, for generally healthy people.
- I like to use a dry skin brush before I get in. Here’s information about the benefits of dry skin brushing. And here’s a video of how to use a skin brush to optimize lymphatic flow and clear dead skin cells.
- After your sauna session, rinse off the residues of toxicity on your skin, in a bath or shower, without using shampoo or soap (unless it’s 100% organic). Your sweat pores are dilated so any chemicals used in the show will be easily absorbed.
Any time of day is a great time to get in the sauna! I like morning because heat therapy is so calming and stress relieving—perfect before you start your day.
Not every infrared sauna is the same. I recommend saunas made by Influence Sauna, HiTech Health, or Sunlighten. Others may have toxic chemicals used to make them or high EMF.
